Kate moved from London to Hamilton in 1981, survived the culture shock of those far off days and now works with print, paint, stitch and digital media from her studio gallery overlooking the Te Awa o Katapaki gully.
Recent exhibitions include “Threaded Narratives” – an investigation of the dialogue between traditional fabric based approaches and her own contemporary practice.
“Hamilton Abridged” – A celebration of the city’s bridges and the perils of poor time management.
“Restoration” – A collection of works presented as guest exhibitor for the Waikato Printmakers exhibition - WaiPrint 2009. These pieces acknowledge and comment upon many backbreaking hours crouched low to the ground in the swampy base of the gully planting out thousands of native species.
Kate was a finalist in the 2010 New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards.
Her work is available from the Gallery Shop at ArtsPost and Inspirit Gallery.
